The FIA's annual Volunteers Weekend will honor the selfless efforts of our men and women volunteers at championship events throughout the world (November 12-13).

The FIA honors the crucial contribution volunteers play for National Sporting Authorities across a wide range of motorsport disciplines as part of this weekend (ASNs).

The whole motorsports community is invited to participate and express their gratitude on social media during the weekend, including fans, drivers, and members of the media. People can engage with motor sport volunteers at all levels from across the world, from club events to world championships, by using the hashtag #FIAVolunteersWeekend on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram during the course of the two days. Several motorsport competitions take place in conjunction with the 2022 FIA Volunteers Weekend to kick off the festivities. These consist of:

  • FIA Formula 1 World Championship
  • Brazil FIA World Rally Championship
  • WRC FORUM8 Rally Japan
  • FIA World Endurance Championship
  • WEC Bahrain FIA World Rallycross Championship
  • RX of Germany FIA World Touring Car Cup
  • WTCR Race of Bahrain FIA European Rally Trophy – Central Rally Trophy
  • Hungary FIA European Cup for Cross-Country Bajas

Saudi Arabia Volunteers will be supported at this weekend's World Endurance Championship 8 Hours of Bahrain and WTCR Race of Bahrain by FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

He said: “Volunteers and officials are the beating heart of motorsport. Without their tireless efforts, we would simply not be able to go racing in a controlled and safe environment. It is important for the entire FIA family to recognise the vital contribution that these women and men make to our sport. This weekend is a celebration but it is also an opportunity to promote the positive benefits that volunteers gain from their involvement in an effort to attract newcomers to motor sport.

The FIA will shortly begin a dedicated Safety Campaign as part of its ongoing effort to protect the work of its marshals and officials at events all around the world. In the upcoming weeks, there will be more information on this. The recipients of the 2022 Volunteers and Officials Award will be revealed the following week.
